With apologies and no offense intended to any of the half a dozen other bands that Mudgey regularly plays with, his heart belongs to DC & The Struggle. Here’s how the majority of DC’s tunes come to life: Mudgey starts playing a riff or a chord progression, Ricky jumps in followed pretty quickly by Jim with a simple bass line, Darc then picks up on the chord progression and plays along while mumbling some syllables that rhyme and fit the tune’s rhythm. Sometimes those tunes stick and turn into songs, sometimes they disappear and are quickly forgotten. But, almost all of them start as a feeling, idea or flash of inspiration from Mudgey.

Once those ideas have turned into tunes, the band captures them, they end up on Mudgey’s computer and get worked, re-worked, tweaked and worked some more until that magic something is uncovered or injected and they go from cool sounding ideas to music.
